1. Do you always require full payment 2 weeks prior?
For weddings, always. As a solo stylist, I have found it can be pretty tricky trying to track and collect payments from all the bridal party members. I have also run into issues with credit card transactions at venues without wifi. It has been working well in my experience for both myself and adds less stress for the bride. No one wants to have to handle sticky money situations on their big day. We have heard feedback from brides saying they have easily collected payments from their bridal party members through Venmo ahead of time, which makes it easy for them to make the full payment prior to their wedding date.

2. How should I arrive for my services?
Clean, washed face for makeup applications. Hair MUST be dry and clean for hair styling services. I recommend people arrive with their "best hair day" hair. For some people that's day 2 hair, some people shampoo daily. So however your hair looks best, is great for me. As long as its clean and dry. A button down or zip down shirt is always great too! It makes it easier for changing after your hair is completed that way it doesn't get bumped or snagged while changing into your dress.
3. Should I bring a picture?
Picture inspiration is always helpful, but not necessary. Pinterest is great for finding ideas. But I also am very confident in my ability to just talk it out the day of and find something that works for your hair and skin type.
4. Do you require a consultation for brides?
Nope! It's not required, but encouraged. Trials are great in the sense that we are able to meet in person and sort out any nerves. It will give us the opportunity to explore your hair and makeup ideas so the day of we don't have any questions. But again, I feel confident that I'm able to make magic happen on your big day with or without a consultation prior.
5. Is gratuity included in the pricing of your services?
No. I do not include it in my pricing. I leave that up to the client. Gratuity is optional, but if the services meet or exceed your expectations it is definitely appreciated. The industry standard is 15-20% of your total service fee.
6. What method of payments to you accept?
Currently: cash, Venmo, or a check written out to Marissa Schoen. If you need a credit card payment, it can be processed through a payment link that I can send to you personally, just let me know.
7. What is your cancellation policy?
Per my contract for all bridal party services: cancellations must be made at a minimum of 60 days prior to your event. If services are cancelled within 60 days an additional fee of $200 will be required for loss of services.
For individual services booked at my studio, I ask for at least 24 hours notice. Without 24 hours notice, the client will be charged 50% of their service fee.
8. Is parking easily accessible at your studio?
Yes, my studio is located right in North Conway village. It's a pretty popular downtown area for shopping and dining. There is street parking directly in front of my studio on both sides of the street, but depending on the day and time it can be full. There is a public lot located behind Olympia Sports. And many more options on side streets. I would factor in a few extra minutes in case. But it would be rare to find yourself walking more than a few minutes from your parking spot to my studio.
